Engaged Spiritual Living
~ A Sacred Inquiry Into Mindful, Heartful, Soulful Navigation of Today’s World ~

The Pine Island Paradox, Kathleen Dean Moore
“The plain fact is that the planet does not need more successful people. But it does desperately need more peacemakers, healers, restorers, storytellers, and lovers of every kind. It needs people who live well in their places. It needs people of moral courage willing to join to make the world habitable and humane. And these qualities have little to do with success as we have defined it.”
~ David W. Orr
To suppose that the Creative Intelligence of the Universe would create man in bondage and leave him bound, would be to dishonor the Creative Power which we call God.
~ Ernest Holmes
Premise: In order to engage – show up, express, experience – and to fully contribute our good in today’s world environment, in the unique and individual way that is in alignment with our hearts and souls, we must have a comprehensive awareness of our nature and of the nature of Spirit. Our desire to embrace, embody, and practice spiritual living – to live and breathe and think and feel and choose and act from a place of high spiritual consciousness – invites us into a greater awareness than ever before of our spiritual nature – heart and mind, body and soul.
This year of values-based spiritual living is inviting us to reassess our values and priorities. While this can be uncomfortable it shouldn’t come as any great surprise. We knew it was coming. We’ve been praying about global transformation, through personal transformation, and here it is, underway. We are powerful co-creators of, and contributors to, what is becoming. Thankfully we have sanctuary, as spiritual community, within which we can wander through this inquiry together.

The Personal Vision –
The Prayer of Saint Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me sow love,
Where there is injury let me sow pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not seek so much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in forgiving that we are forgiven,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
