About Georgia Prescott:
For 20 years Dr. Georgia Prescott served as executive director of the Council on Aging in Sonoma County, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide legal services, hot home-delivered meals, case management, and financial services to the county’s elders. During that time, she was awarded the Jack Greene ACLU award for courage in advancing the rights of the LGBTQ+ community.
Ready for a new challenge, Dr. Prescott completed seminary studies at the Ernest Holmes Institute to become a New Thought ordained Minister. In late 1998, Dr. Prescott founded the Center for Spiritual Awareness in Sacramento, a vibrant multi-cultural spiritual center, drawing crowds from throughout the central valley and from all walks of life, quickly becoming known as the most inclusive faith-based community in the area. She retired from the Center in 2022.
In 2014 Dr. Prescott was inducted into the Dr. Martin Luther King Board of Preachers in Atlanta.
She is the author of the popular book, “Victim to Victory: a Spiritual not Religious Look at the 12 Steps.”
