Youth & Family Ministry
Welcome to the Oakland Center for Spiritual Living, Youth and Family Ministry
We are a safe, joyous, all inclusive, loving and “happy” space. Our mission is to guide and support our youth, on this incredible journey of divine discovery and personal creativity. They’ll remember what they already know and have fun doing it!
By using simple principles and practices in New Thought, Ancient Wisdom, Science of Mind & Spirit, we facilitate an understanding of the creative process, their roles in this process, and a realization that helps define their purpose, hopes, dreams and their ultimate freedom. They’ll remember, “we are whole, perfect and complete” already!

When a child enters your life, it is time to relearn the life that you have forgotten. That a child can laugh without reason, that he can jump around for no reason, that he can become an exuberant burst of aliveness – that’s life ~Sadhguru. “Whee!”
The Rev. Jeff Anderson Educational Fund
The Rev Jeff Anderson Educational Fund provides spiritual and financial support to Oakland Center for Spiritual Living, Youth.
We support the process of “adulting.” Therefore, funds are available for our youth after grade 12 for continuing education and other life learning experiences.
With a special focus on teens; this fund, scholarships our annual CSL Science of Mind Teen camp/retreat. All teens, who actively participate in our Youth and Family Ministry are encouraged to apply.
Please contact Janine Perry, Administrator, for additional information.
Diane is a retired elementary school teacher. She has been a Science of Mind practitioner since 2020. She has two sons and two grandchildren.
We are saddened to inform you of the sudden passing of our colleague and facilitator, Kerstin Feist, “Shash’tin'”, on May 28 in her home. Shash’tin’s outgoing personality, sense of humor, the magic of her music, boundless energy and smile, will be sorely missed

We Love Our Babies at Oakland Center
We provide three easy, safe and fun ways for babies and parents to be part of our Sunday services:
- Children are always welcome to attend service in the Sanctuary with their parent(s) or guardian(s).
- For the youngest, 4 years and under, we have opened the Nursery where you and your little ones can spend time together. See and hear the service on your own phone/tablet, etc. Enjoy the toys and facilities in the Nursery.
- We have set up a large screen in the Social Hall, where accompanied children can play and enjoy their time together as they watch the service.
When service is over you will be joined in the Social Hall by other members of the congregation as we share in the refreshments.
Please accompany your children to ensure their safety.
For children over 4 years of age, the Oakland Center continues to provide a wonderful experience under the loving guidance of our Youth and Family Ministry staff.
